The Method section describes the research design, approach, procedures, and analytical techniques in a systematic way. It must state whether the study is quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method, and it should include:
Quantitative studies must describe validity and reliability testing. Qualitative studies must explain credibility and trustworthiness strategies. Ethical considerations are stated where applicable. The level of detail must be sufficient to allow replication and verification. Clarity, precision, transparency, and reproducibility are the guiding principles.
Findings are presented first, followed by the discussion. The Results and Discussion subtitles are presented separately.
Results. Report only the findings of the current research, in a clear, systematic, and objective manner, directly addressing the research questions or hypotheses stated in the Introduction. Support findings with tables, charts, graphs, or other figures, and explain each of them in paragraph form, covering meaning, patterns, relationships, or significant differences. Report primary findings first, followed by secondary findings such as subgroup analyses. Keep the presentation concise, coherent, and free from redundancy.
Discussion. Provide an analytical interpretation of the findings. Relate the results to relevant theories and previous studies, and explain whether they support, extend, or contradict existing knowledge. The Discussion must:
The Conclusions are placed at the end of the article, before the acknowledgments. Write them as a narrative in one paragraph, not as bullet points. The conclusion answers the research objectives or hypotheses; it does not merely summarize the findings. It should be brief, lucid, and qualitative, giving a broad perspective in a single paragraph.
Acknowledgments are placed after the Conclusions and before the notes and references.
Authors must declare the specific contribution of each individual to the research and the manuscript. All listed authors must have made a substantive intellectual contribution. Example:
Author 1: Conceptualization, Methodology, Writing – Original Draft. Author 2: Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Writing – Review & Editing. Author n: Supervision, Funding Acquisition, Validation.
Authors must declare any potential conflict of interest related to the research, authorship, or publication of the article. A conflict may be financial (funding sources, employment, consultancies, honoraria, stock ownership, patents) or non-financial (personal or professional relationships, affiliations, or beliefs). If there is none, state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
All manuscripts must comply with the plagiarism policy of Jurnal Ecogen.
Jurnal Ecogen uses APA 7th Edition. In-text citations use the form (Author, year) or Author (year). Cite only sources that you have read carefully. Reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero is strongly recommended. Authors are also encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in Jurnal Ecogen.
Reference requirements:
Gray literature (e.g., theses, government reports) may be used but should be kept to a minimum. Every work cited in the text must appear in the reference list, arranged alphabetically.
